Tahoma is one of the Modernist Sans Serif style typefaces family jointly developed by Microsoft Corporation and Matthew Carter as the company’s default fonts for the Windows operating system 95. Many people claimed that Tahoma resembles Fruiter, a sans-serif humanist typeface, which Carter also designed; in the interview with Daniel Will-Harris, Carter said that it is somehow similar to Bell Centennial, which preceded it.
