The British Broadcasting Corporation is a British public service charter broadcaster. Located in Broadcasting House in central London’s Westminster, it is the oldest national broadcaster in the world and employees more people than any other broadcaster in the world. Humanist sans serif Gill Sans was designed by Eric Gill and issued by the British branch of Monotype starting 1928. Gill Sans, named after the typeface famous of the London Underground sign, is inspired in Johnston’s Underground Alphabet of 1916.
