In 1896, Berthold first released Akzidenz-Grotesk as a commercial typeface. The design comes from light Royal Grotesk by Ferdinand Theinhardt who also created the regular, medium and bold versions. Over time, Berthold has added to this already extremely popular and flexible type of typeface family. AG Super: This face was designed in 1968 by Günter Gerhard Lange and is ideal for headlines. Super Italic and Extra Bold italic were added by Günter Gerhard Lange in 2001 to Berthold fonts.
